In 1980, Jean-Paul Riopelle plans to set up a foundation to welcome artists (regardless their discipline) from around the world. Its purpose is to perpetuate the traditions, among others, of etching and lithography. Unfortunately, this project will never happen. We can only imagine the excitement prevailing in this extraordinary workshop where the disciplines of the world meet and enter into dialogue with each others. It is in this context that Riopelle creates the work F, (F for fondation 1), all of the profits were intended for the realization of this great project.1.
