In the Bay of Fundy

The Canadian painter John Hammond was an admirer of European works, more particularly those created by the French artists of the Barbizon school and by those of the painters of the Hague school in the Netherlands. This preference was reflected in his landscapes and marine scenes. His depictions of the Bay of Fundy remain the best known.
