Winter Sleigh

At the end of the 1930s, Paul-Archibald-Octave Caron traveled to the Charlevoix region to create watercolor landscapes reflecting the characteristics of Quebec's winter. The artist then uses only distilled water and high quality materials to ensure the durability of his works. Many of them will later be used to illustrate Christmas cards. In Winter Sleigh, 1940, a meticulous touch is brought to the shadows of the fluffy snow. The surrounding landscape is presented with sobriety, which accentuates the look on the main characters, the sleigh and the moving horse.
