Claude Picher

Claude Picher, born May 30, 1927 in Quebec and died in 1998, at the age of 71, in Saint-Léandre, near Matane, is a Quebec painter.

He studied at the École des beaux-arts de Québec (1945-1946)1. Winner of a scholarship from the French government (1948-1949), he enrolled at the École du Louvre and continued his studies at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris1.

He was director of exhibitions at the National Museum of Fine Arts of Quebec, founder of the Society of Plastic Arts of Quebec, representative of the Museum of Fine Arts of Canada, director of the Quebec Museum2 and professor at Cégep de Matane.
