Hunter with bag

Asking price: CAD $ 8,800 plus applicables taxes

Inuit art sculpture from the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal, made of serpentine. This woman, a hunter perhaps, holds in her hands a bag. Small details in the composition makes it a unique piece of art: the fur of the mittens, her hair that goes down to the side, the bulky hood of his tunic, or her very large and expressive eyes. Carved in a single block of stone, this Inuit artwork distinguished itself by its dimensions of great size. Serpentine is also called soapstone.
