Francine Simonin was a multidisciplinary artist. Through multiple artistic practices, she has developed a unique approach. Whatever the technique or medium used, the artist becomes one with his body and the movement during creation. These are spontaneous and intuitive, reminiscent of abstract expressionism, of which she considered herself “the cousin”.
Francine Simonin marked her return to acrylic in the early 2000s and, in 2003, with the Les Jardins series, she offered large-format works in bright and bold colors. In the painting The Gardens, we find this dynamic and natural gesture which defines it so well.
