In 1985, Jean-Paul Riopelle received the Grand Prix of painting of the city of Paris. In the same year of 1985, Riopelle presents the exhibition "Les oies sauvages" at the Pierre Matisse Gallery in New York. This exhibition featured paintings and collages mounted on canvas.
