Nostalgia and the passion for hockey of artist John C. Little are brought together in the work Patinoire d'autre fois à St-Henri. In this work, John Little bears witness to a sweet memory of a typically Montreal way of life. The backyards of workers' neighborhood houses used as the scene of a friendly game between neighbors. The viewpoints of John Little's paintings are often taken on the sidewalk of a street bringing the gaze towards the urban horizon. In this case, the bird's eye view of the alleys and backyards is more intimate. We see the real daily life of the children of a community sheltered from the gaze of the passer-by. Admiring this work, we can easily imagine ourselves being on one of these balconies and following the match of our children with a benevolent eye.
