Trapper and sleigh
René Richard painter and ex-trapper settled permanently from the 1940s in Baie-St-Paul. This new sedentary life devoted to his art, does not distract him from his memories of years spent in the North. He then draws on his memories of his past life as a trapper to create unique works from the daily lives of travelers and trappers from the North.
Here, the work Trapper and sleigh, Richard testifies to the lonely daily life of the trapper in the harsh climatic conditions. The latter settles for the night with his faithful dog as his only companion.
