After securing a Canada Council grant in 1962, she traveled across Europe for a year and a half with Ulysse Comtois. This period proved to be particularly fruitful, as she sent numerous groups of works back home.
During this journey, she stopped in Spoleto, Italy, where she met the sculptor Kosso Eloul, who would become her life partner. She also participated in the fifth edition of the Festival dei due Mondi di Spoleto, which took place from June 21 to July 22, 1962.
