Yves Trudeau's Le Cyclope from 1965 is an imposing and majestic work combining iron and wood. The representation of the cyclops is variable, however at the Alexandrine era, the cyclops were the blacksmiths of Hephaïtos. In fact, Antiquity has left several representations of cyclops working at the forge on bas-reliefs and vases. Here, through his mastery of iron, Yves Trudeau brings his modern interpretation of these mythical creatures.
