Marc-Aurèle de Foy Suzor-Coté, a Canadian painter known for his great diversity of subjects including the landscapes of his native region of Arthabaska. He set up a studio there in 1895, two years before the execution of this work. This landscape of the region is one of the last painted before his great departure for France where he will stay for a period of 10 years. Summer landscape of Arthabaska, Quebec
