According to a discussion held with Mr. Buisson in 1966, Fortin was leaving his pension with the Sulpicians to paint in Hochelaga. At the time, he was riding on a mountain of tires, and it was there that he could see all Hochelaga. Fortin could even see the bell tower of Longueuil Church. According to the artist, he considers to have done very beautiful works.
