During the winter of 2000-2001, Marcel Barbeau produced large format works at his studio in Sutton in the Eastern Townships. He again produced 4 large formats during the summer of 2001. In December, he won fifth place at the Biennial of Contemporary Art in Florence, Italy.
Painting exhibited at the Musée d'art contemporain of the Laurentians in 2012. Exhibition Marcel Barbeau: Escapade dans les Laurentides.
