Red Abstraction
A pioneering painter and signatory of the Refus global manifesto, Marcelle Ferron is one of the leading artists of the second half of the 20th century. From 1953 to 1957, the artist lives in Paris and spend time with the entourage of the painter Jean-Paul Riopelle. The works she produces during this decade are distinguished by their structure and by the density of the material applied generously with the spatula.
