Composition No. 5
During the early 1970s, Ferron made a significant number of works on paper. During this period, the artist marries colors, light, opacity and transparency in her compositions, which is reminiscent of the period of the great stained glass windows of the 1960s. The papers present "more intimate, more secret movements", according to the girl the painter, Diane Hamelin (2016) The works on paper punctuate the entire career of the artist: the viewer then sees the evolution and the beginning of the defining periods of Marcelle Ferron.
