Le petit velo et l'oiseau gris

During the year 1961, the young artist won the prize of the young Mediterranean painting and the Dorothée Gould prize. The first large exhibition of the works of Théo Tobiasse took place at the Faubourg Saint-Honoré gallery in Paris from 1962.

The painter tackles major themes throughout his artistic career. In the first half of the 1960s, Théo Tobiasse tackled figurative subjects such as still lifes, animals and velocipeds. The search for the subject is privileged and not the subject which is a pretext. Inspired by Dubuffet and art brut.
